Is the FA listening?

Let me not make any qualms of two cold facts:

1. Manchester United are one helluva of a team. Their consistency and fighting spirit is worth writing books and books on. There is an invincible look to them this season with their late winners much like 1999; when they scored twice in injury time to thwart Bayern Munich.
2. They deserved to win last night's match again Manchester City. But, do deserving teams always win?

But, I am visibly frustrated and annoyed at the continued bias that FA has shown towards Manchester United? Do they really need that extra help?

1. Instigating the crowd: Adebayor was rightfully handed a ban for instigating the crowd at Arsenal. So much for Arsene Wenger's benevolence of developing unknowns into world class footballers and treating one of the most well mannered fans in the world. He needed to be pulled up for his act against Gunners fan and a possible riot that could have followed if the game was played in South America or Africa. We could have had stadiums and people collapse. But, time and time again in the name of pressure tactic Alex Fergusson just garbs about and there is no one to warn him. Was he not instigating his club fans to boo Tevez? Could he not have instigated one of those mindless fans to do something uncalled for under the influence of alcohol?

This is the news piece I am talking about- Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has warned former Old Trafford favourite Carlos Tevez to expect a hostile reception from the supporters who used to adore him if he features for Manchester City in Sunday's derby showdown.

2. Playing games after extra time? The line referee showed 4 minutes and they played for 6.5 minutes. Agree they had a substitution. That is 4.5 minutes. Why 6.5 minutes? Were the referees waiting for Man U to score. It felt like the game would never end till Man U score.......

These are just 2 instances which has clearly favoured Man U against a team which was building momentum. As we go on this season, one can only wonder how many penalties Man U are going to be awarded and how many they are going to be saved from when they deserve to be penalized. Something’s just don’t change.

Seems like the games regulators follow the winner.....

Though a MANU fan, I feel the time added was definitely questionable...but this is what the referee had to say about extra time added, "Bellamy took 55 seconds to celebrate his equaliser (3rd goal scored in the 90th minute)". Though this along with the substitution would not add up to an extra 2.5 minutes, it was enough to play on the mind of the referee. I would say it was a smart move by Sir Alex to substitute in extra time and extend the time added and also, more than Old Trafford influencing anybody, I would say it is the AURA, the 'Theatre of Dreams' would have on people. The referee was simply bedazzled I guess...:-) (Ajit)

First get your facts right Rohit. I saw the replay and noted the following:
Bellamy scored at 89:57, celebrated long and game restarted at 91:24. Add Carrick's substitution and the final whistle should have been at 95:54. Owen scored at 95:27 so its a FAIR goal
Gunners fans well behaved??...what are you talking about...they aren't called gooners for no rhyme or reason....Can you imagine a player getting booed in his own stadium by his own crowd...if you can't then ask Abu Diaby in the Wigan game last year....never seen anything as shameful as that.
In the Emirates during the CL semi-final 2nd leg do you know who told the United players to tone down their celebrations after the 3rd goal to show respect...it was Sir Alex Ferguson
And infact he was doing Tevez a favour by warning him...anyone who tried crowd influence last season to get more money, then said he is going to celebrate in front of SAF's face if he scores a goal is bound to expect a booing

Ayan- that was some passion eh!!!

The idea of writing a blog is to get peoples views and I love the passion in it….

I am not going to respond to your views as your can see we have 2 different views from 2 die hard MAN U fans under comments itself :)

don't lie Rohit, you aren't responding because you don't have any counter arguments :-)

The FA must have seen that a certain Mike Denness lost his job because he dared to question Sachin's integrity in South Africa some years back so similarly they don't dare question Sir Alex Ferguson

Before writing an article on the RED DEVILS, you need to spend a lot of time in understanding its fans, culture and development over 15 years.

An Arab billionaire cannot come overnight and just buy a team and expect to beat the RED DEVILS. THEY RAN US CLOSE AS WE MADE MISTAKES.... ELSE, WE WOULD HAVE FINISHED THEM...

Brilliant point Nishi, couldn't have put it better

The fact Gary Neville received only a £5,000 fine in 2006 when he celebrated in a very similar manner to Adebayor following his goal against the Gunners is a clear reflection of FA bias.

For the same thing, Adebayor is now facing a misconduct charge.

Is this not a case in point?
